Family Law Guidance Built Around Your Circumstances

Every family has challenges, and legal issues are more common than many people realize. A divorce, custody dispute, support disagreement, adoption, or protection-order matter is not a failure. It is a legal process that can help a family establish clearer rights, responsibilities, and boundaries.

Custom Law's Noblesville family attorneys do not push generic solutions. We listen to your goals, learn how your family operates, and explain the options available under Indiana law. When agreement is possible, we pursue efficient solutions. When the other side is unreasonable, we are prepared to advocate in Hamilton County family court.

We represent spouses, parents, guardians, and prospective adoptive families in divorce, custody, support, mediation, adoption, and protective-order proceedings.

Divorce and Child Custody in Hamilton County

Divorce

Not every divorce must become lengthy or destructive. If spouses agree to end the marriage and can resolve the underlying issues, an uncontested process may address property division, financial and tax matters, custody, support, and parenting time more efficiently. When important issues remain disputed, we prepare to take them through the family court system and fight against coercive or unfair outcomes.

Child Custody

Indiana custody decisions focus on the child's best interests, without an automatic presumption favoring either parent. Courts may consider the child's age and sex, the wishes of the parents and child, relationships with parents and siblings, adjustment to home, school, and community, the parties' physical and mental health, domestic violence, and care by a de facto custodian.

Parents can present evidence supporting the arrangement they believe is best. A guardian ad litem may also assess the family and offer a recommendation. We help clients prepare the evidence and arguments that affect legal custody, physical custody, and parenting time.

Adoption and Family Mediation

Adoption

Families grow through many forms of adoption, including placement with relatives and adoption of a child the prospective parent does not yet know. Legal guidance can help identify required consent, notices, filings, training, and court steps so the process moves forward correctly.

Mediation

Hamilton County divorce and custody matters will often proceed through mediation before trial. Mediation can help spouses and parents communicate, identify shared priorities, and negotiate issues while retaining more control over the outcome. It is less formal than a hearing, but the decisions remain important and require preparation.

Attorney Nicholas Dandurand is a registered domestic relations mediator with extensive mediation experience. Our team helps clients communicate their needs clearly, identify areas for compromise, and recognize the issues on which they must hold firm.

When mediation cannot resolve the dispute, we remain ready to present the matter to a family court judge.
